形態特徵

• Culms geniculate, ca. 1 mm across.
• Blade ca. 3 mm long, 6 mm wide; basal part broad, nearly glabrous; ligule minute, ca. 0.25 mm long, truncate; sheath margins sericeous.
• Racemes 3-4, subdigitately arranged, ca. 6 cm long. Spikelets paired, monomorphic, upper long pedicellate, lower shortly pediceled; joint of rachis slender, as long as spikelet, ca. 4.5 mm long. Lower glume lanceolate, as long as spikelet, subcoriaceous, 2-keeled, conspicuously 3-nerved, 2-toothed; upper glume chartaceous, lanceolate, 1-nerved, 2-keeled, margins membranaceous, inrolled and fimbriate, minutely 2-toothed, with a long awn arising from sinus; lower lemma ca. 2 mm long, linear-lanceolate, membranaceous, 1-nerved, with an awn of ca. 10 cm long; upper lemma similar to lower, slightly shorter, upper palea reduced; stamens 2, anthers ca. 0.8 mm long.
• This species is closely related to <i>Microstegium nudum</i>.
